Matsusaka celebrates 50 years with Cobb

Matsusaka Farm-Cobb 50 years

The 50-year association between Itochu and Cobb-Vantress in Japan was recently celebrated at Kaoden, Kikyono-ma of Matsusaka City, with a specially engraved globe that was presented to Cobb Japan, a joint venture between the two companies.

“The association between Cobb and Matsusaka Farm is one of the oldest in the Cobb family. I am very proud of the commitment from the Matsusaka team, as well as the vision and support of our partner Itochu, throughout the history of this joint venture. We look forward to growing our market share in Japan in the years ahead,” said Pelayo Casanovas, Cobb’sgeneral manager of the Asia-Pacific region.

Looking back on theventure that began in January, 1967, Toshimichi Morikoshi, president of Matsusaka Farm, reminisced how it all started with “one quarantine shed, four poultry houses and a headquarters” in Matsusaka city. Imports of Cobb grandparents began shortly after, he added.
