European Union raises export quota

The European Union commission has granted additional poultry export quota to Thailand, Brazil and others effective April 1.

In total, EU granted an additional 5,460 tonnes of cooked and raw meat exports.

Marinated, raw frozen chicken meat has been increased by 340 tonnes/year, with an in-quota tariff of 630 euros/tonne.

Cooked products with offal content or meat over 57% of total weight have been increased by 60 tonnes/year with an in-quota tariff of 10.9%, while cooked meat with meat and offal content 25-57% of total weight has been upped to 60 tonnes/year with an in-quota tariff of 10.9%.

Further processed cooked meat has been increased by 5,000 tonnes/annum with an in-quota 8% tariff.

As of 2018, under the EU quota allocation system, Thailand is annually granted access to 92,610 tonnes of the EU’s uncooked, salted poultry meat quota, 5,100 tonnes for uncooked, unsalted poultry meat, and 160,033 tonnes of cooked meat.
