Classical swine fever in Gifu is an ‘exotic’ strain, say authorities 

The CSF virus recently detected at a pig farm in Gifu, Japan is a type that has not been found before in the country, according to the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization.

The virus type, seen in other parts of Asia and in Europe, was confirmed through genetic analysis, the institute said on Sept 4.
