China’s total corn harvest in 2019 is estimated at 254 million tonnes, a 1.3% decline y-o-y, and well below the five-year average.

Farmers in China’s corn belt, namely Liaoning, Jilin, and Heilongjiang, have switched to soybeans, with some 41 million hectares seeded to soybeans instead of corn.
