Thailand’s DLD declares Nakhon Panom village a ‘PRRS-infected area’

Thailand’s Department of Livestock Development last Friday declared a village in Nakhon Panom, near the border with Laos, to be a “porcine reproductive respiratory syndrome (PRRS) epidemic area.”
Ban Na Rachakwai, Tambon Na Rachakwai, Ampoe Muang Nakhon Panom, has been declared a temporarily PRRS-infected area from July 12 until Aug 10.
To contain the disease, live animal and carcass movements are restricted and will be considered by DLD inspectors or veterinarians on a case-by-case basis. Animal owners have to notify DLD inspectors within 12 hours of any sickness or death of animals.
