Thai layer producers to end egg glut

360-sq-m high-care zone is automated. Six workers are capable of handling over 380,000 eggs/ day.

Sixteen major egg producers have agreed to reduce parent stock flocks and export excess eggs to shore up domestic prices to 2.6 baht each vs the current 2.4 baht.

One million layer hens will be culled by the end of November and 60 million eggs will be exported before the end of December.

CPF will export 40 million eggs, Betagro 10 million and the others 10 million pieces altogether.

Also, 100,000 parent stock birds aged 25-60 weeks will be culled by the end of November.
