McDonald’s to remove antibiotics from beef supply chain

McDonald’s Corp has recently announced plans to implement a new beef antibiotic policy that will apply to 85% of its global beef supply chain.
McDonald’s is partnering with suppliers from the company’s top 10 beef sourcing markets to measure and understand current usage of antibiotics across the global supply chain.
By the end of 2020, McDonald’s will establish reduction targets for medically important antibiotics for these markets. Then, starting in 2022, the company will report progress on its antibiotic reduction targets across those top 10 beef sourcing markets.
