Japan finds Classical swine fever again in Gifu Prefecture

A second case of CSF was detected in Gifu Prefecture on Nov 16 at a park, after the nation’s first case in decades was reported in September.

The Gifu Prefectural Government culled all 21 pigs kept at the park after confirming earlier that two of them were infected with CSF.

Already, 49 wild boars in the prefecture have been found to be infected with the virus, but none of the pigs in the park had shown signs of infection at the time.
