Bug-infested Indian wheat rejected

Some 24,000 tonnes of wheat shipped from India found to be infested with Khapra beetle has been rejected and shipped back to India immediately after fumigation, said Thailand’s Department of Agriculture.

As of September 2018, Thailand has imported 2.35 million tonnes of wheat, worth 20.3 billion baht, mainly from the United States, Australia, Ukraine and India. Imports from India so far have amounted to 44,000 tonnes.
